Dark Rich Fruit Cake Competition

This competition celebrates the fine art of baking a traditional Dark Rich Fruit Cake, helping preserve a heritage skill that has been valued and passed down through generations.

A set recipe is not provided. Exhibitors are encouraged to use their own tried and trusted recipe, provided it meets the Queensland Ag Show competition rules.
The competition begins at local agricultural shows across Queensland. Winners from each local show competition become eligible to compete at their Sub Chamber Finals. The winner from each Sub Chamber then progresses to the State Final.

Only one entry from each Sub Chamber is permitted at the State Final. For more information about local shows, please visit the Contact Shows page.

All exhibits entered in the State Final must be made using a 500g mixture with approximately 2.25kg of fruit and will be displayed at the hosting State Final show.

Please note that exhibits will not be returned following the State Final.
