Every year, the Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards shine a spotlight on the remarkable young women who are helping shape the future of regional Queensland.
Representing agricultural show societies from across the state, the 2026 Queensland Country Life Showgirl State Finalists are leaders, volunteers, professionals, students and passionate advocates for their communities. Together, they reflect the diversity, resilience and community spirit that continues to define Queensland’s agricultural show movement.
From North Queensland to the South East, Central Queensland to the Darling Downs, this year’s finalists bring with them unique experiences, inspiring ambitions and a shared commitment to giving back to the regions they proudly call home.
More Than a Competition
The Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards celebrate young women who are making a positive contribution to their local communities while developing the skills to become future leaders and ambassadors for regional Queensland.
The State Finals are not simply about recognising individual achievement. They are an opportunity for finalists to build lifelong connections, develop leadership skills, strengthen their understanding of the agricultural show movement and become advocates for the industries and communities that support regional Queensland.

Poppy-Jane Todd
Representing Beaudesert Show Society
A Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Advanced Humanities student at The University of Queensland, Poppy-Jane is passionate about advocating for regional Queensland. Her experience working with rural communities has strengthened her commitment to supporting farmers, family businesses and regional industries. Having grown up on Tamborine Mountain and previously operating her own dance academy, she understands the importance of community connection and leadership.

Hannah Gladys Johnson
Representing Toogoolawah Show Society
Currently studying Agricultural Science and Agribusiness at The University of Queensland, Hannah is driven by a passion for Australia’s beef industry. Her ambitions include gaining international industry experience before returning to build a career supporting Australian producers through beef nutrition, reproductive technologies or agrifinance.

Representing Chinchilla Show Society
Born and raised in Chinchilla, Charleen combines her career in real estate marketing with a genuine passion for her hometown. She hopes to help more families discover the opportunities and lifestyle regional Queensland has to offer while continuing to strengthen her local community.

Representing Murgon Show Society
Stephanie is passionate about showcasing the South Burnett through her work in property management and real estate. Deeply involved in her local cricket club and connected to her family’s cattle property, she embodies the strong community values that agricultural shows celebrate.

Bridie Jane Blinco
Representing Malanda Show Society
Working in the quarrying industry while remaining actively involved in agriculture, Bridie is passionate about cattle showing, family farming and supporting local businesses. She enjoys embracing new challenges and is a proud advocate for rural Queensland.

Grace Hankinson
Representing Gympie Show Society
Grace is studying Agricultural Technologies while pursuing a career that combines agriculture with communications and marketing. Her passion for promoting Australian agriculture is matched by her active involvement in sport and the outdoors.

Bridgette Emily Langston
Representing Goombungee-Haden Show Society
Serving as a Corporal in the Royal Australian Air Force, Bridgette is dedicated to leadership, mentoring and service. Her career working with military working dogs is complemented by her love of country life, handmade crafts and the outdoors.

Britney Schofield
Representing Rockhampton Agricultural Show
Britney is a Health and Safety Coordinator committed to improving workplace culture across regional industries. A passionate volunteer and community advocate, she continues to support agricultural shows, fundraising and animal welfare throughout Central Queensland.

Chloe Davey
Representing Capella Show Society
Working in education while supporting rural families as an in-home nanny, Chloe is passionate about creating opportunities for young people and building strong communities. She also enjoys campdrafts, photography, travel and running her own small business.

As an Assistant Agri Banker, Brydie works alongside primary producers across a range of agricultural enterprises. Her passion for agribusiness is matched by her love of campdrafting, sewing, cooking and community sport.

A dedicated high school teacher, Vanessa is passionate about strengthening regional communities through education and service. She is committed to celebrating the people and places that make country Queensland unique.
Celebrating the Future of Regional Queensland
Although each finalist’s journey is different, they all share a deep connection to their local communities and a genuine commitment to ensuring regional Queensland continues to thrive.
Throughout State Finals week during the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), these outstanding young women will take part in interviews, leadership activities and official engagements before the 2026 Queensland Country Life Showgirl is announced.
No matter the outcome, every finalist represents the very best of Queensland’s agricultural show movement. Their passion, leadership and dedication are helping inspire the next generation of volunteers, advocates and community leaders.
