Queensland Ag Shows run the Poultry Young Judges competition on a state-wide basis. The competition is held across three levels – Local Show, State Finals and National Finals.

As the title suggests, competition is open to young people aged 15 to under 25 years as of the 1st of May in the year of the Competitor’s State Final. Poultry Young Judges State Final Competition will be held each year at the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).

You must win at a Local Queensland Agricultural Show to qualify to compete in the State Finals.

The winner of the State Finals will then compete as Queenslands representative at the following years National Finals.

The aim of these competitions is to develop the judging skills of young people to ensure a selection of experienced judges for future Agricultural Shows. Competitors also improve their communication and presentation skills.
